David Ortiz wins the contest circuit
David Ortiz, the slugger of the Boston Red Sox, won his first competition of home runs on Monday, slamming 10 long balls during the final round presented at Angels Stadium in Anaheim.
“Big Papi” has added another highlight to a season of rebirth with a series of resounding slaps on the balconies above the right field.
“I had a lot of problems in recent years, said Ortiz. Being able to come back here (Star game), I would like to thank the players for allowing me to be among them. We have this job, but it’s called a game is what I try to do during the season – having fun with my teammates and make sure everything runs properly. “
Ortiz said the title meant a lot to him and dedicated to the former artillery major league Jose Lima, a countryman from the Dominican Republic who died in May after the paramedics had found her in cardiac arrest home in southern California.
